  • Subject: Re: V2R3 to V3R2 upgrade sticker shock

We do have another box. It's a model 400 (RISC). The E04 is our
development box and is really used as a comm controller as it is hooked up
to most of our clients either with dial or leased lines. It does its job.
I just would like to be able to connect to the E04 with TCP/IP from the
desktop. Now I have to connect to the RISC system and passthru to the E04.
No biggy really and it is hard to justify spending any cash on the "white"
box. When we looked at the upgrade, there was so little market value or
credit for a trade up we decided to keep the E04 basically to have a box to
test comm programs with. It is just a lot nicer to test comm programs
between your own 2 boxes than to have to use a customer's.
