I added some some extra thoughts to a Business Continuity plan. We are a
Disaster Recovery Site and have seen a number of times the real thing
happen. When a disaster hits(it always comes as a suprise), believe me,
you are not the normal yourselve. The pressure and stress is very high
and heads may roll. We had a recent case where the customer had a
disaster but the recovery plan could not be found. The previous manager
who planned the disaster recovery had left the company. In the meantime
the company had outgrown the original plan. We could only assist in some
areas. Heads did roll.(We notify all our enrolled customers yearly to
test at least twice a year)

The morral of the story is to test regulary and be prepared on the day.
Look for products and services that can assist you in these areas. Try
and simulate disasters, there are products that can do this.

Regards,
Kirstie - CTIS
