I don't think this should be a problem since an Ethernet card on the AS/400
can be configured for both SNA Server and for Macs (I recommend TCP/IP for
the Macs).

This is fine.  The LAN cards are separate entities in the AS400.  SAA is
essentially a gateway as is SNA Server.

Some pgms on Macs and PCs can read/write the same file structures.  System
7.0 allows for Macs to read/write DOS diskettes.  The new MacMidrage Client
from Andrew supports mounted volumes on the AS400 over TCP/IP.  Call if you
need more info.

This is more complicated but might work through either Novell or MS NT if
they support sharing files on the network.  If so, I don't see why the
Network OS would care technically care which or what kind of client is
opening or sharing a database.
