Thank you for your input, I appreciate the stories of your different
experiences.  I want to clarify that I was not planning on giving
ultimatums, if I go I go, If I stay I owe it to myself to try to discuss how
my job should change or be adjusted so I can make progress in new areas.  I
would not even mention money, even though it pains mean to see other
specialties in the dept make big money that just seems high.  Management is
from the consulting network side so project management and network guys are
paid well.

Another catch that has come up is that I was moving toward buying a home, I
understand now that a job move is a big no no for the mortgage approval.
