Hello all,
I have subscribed to this for over two years. My question: where is the
market for a programmer with little to no experience.
After lay-off (my one year of experience), I was informed I needed 3-5 years
expereince or a Bachelor's degree. Well, I couldn't seem to get the
experience, so on to a Bachelor's degree I went. Now, I still lack the
experience. I have the Bachelor's degree, just haven't been able to use the
education.

I have listed my resume on Careerbuilder, Dice, Hotjobs, etc. Normally, I
get calls from recruiters looking for more expereince. This has been a lengthy
and expensive journey into the IT industry.

I am well aware of the outsourcing, the offshore, the downsizing, the switch
of technologies, and the reduction in pay for the same position. A shame by
the way, since there seem to be many individuals here on the shores of America
who are skilled and ready to work. All I am looking for is insight into a
position other than making pizzas at Casey's General store for minimum wage
part time with no benefits, let alone a break or lunch. Life has to offer
something for someone having a Bachelor's degree.

  What are your thoughts?

  Mary
