Per some recent articles about England and the US -- the current college crew, of people cramming 4 years of college in 5 or 6 years since dad is paying the bills so long as they are in college, are looking for the "soft" majors of sociology, psychology etc. and not going after (hard) engineering, chemistry, physics and IT. From this I assume they are also looking for party schools to attend.

That's a good point about enrollment dropping in Universities and Colleges but
I think that's more due to the fact that many entering IT fields realize that
they do not have to go to college for 4 years and run up huge student loans in
order to have a career in IT.

I even have a company strategy to recruit the highly talented ones
straight out of Tech High either to work part-time while they continue their
education ...

Good for you that's a great plan. Maybe the science bit holds in High
School - but I'm hearing from friends in Universities and Colleges around
the country that enrolment is dropping rapidly.

Round here the Tech school programs are focusing more on building and other
skilled trades and less on computer topics.
