Come on Don that's neither a fair statement nor accurate. I understand that
offshore outsourcing has affected the IT community but it has nothing to do
Bush nor does it have anything to do with Indian's working for 12K a year.

Before you criticize at least understand the shift within the industry. Don't
get bitter, get better.

I've worked directly with consultants from the world's largest offshore
outsourcing company, Wipro Technologies. Just like any other company they have
good, average, and below satisfactory employees. The company is an India based
company and employs over 42,000 consultants worldwide.

I understand US corporations have outsourced IT jobs causing many IT
professionals to reconsider their career paths. No doubt this has had a
significant affect on the US economy. Those of us who stick around should
understand the offshore business; pros and cons of outsourcing as well as the
strengths and weaknesses offshore employees.

If you think the Indians have devestated the market leaving the US IT industry
destitute, look out for the Chinese who are coming in with bill rates even
lower than the average India based companies.

I can't tell any of you a drop dead strategy for moving foward. However, my
personal strategy is to continue to produce high quality, cost effective, and
timely solutions to my clients.....network like crazy....and partner with as
many Indian companies that I can! Call me crazy but if I know that Wipro just
signed over a $3 billion dollar contract with GM, I also know that they will
need stateside resources for some of the work and trust me, Wipro's rates
stateside are compatible to any other mainstream consulting company (i.e.
TekSystems, Ajilon, Kforce, etc.)

Jonathan R. Burrs
