Alan

Their are many ways to accomplish this, and much of the discussion is
around the U/I you want to use. We have done this in traditional IDF/Power
link or also using data collection or a product called Catavolt, and even
using some simple bar code collection devices, a PC on the line feeding
data to TRDATA.

I can send you more information but would like to talk about concepts and
more importantly the preferred U/I you'd like to use that fits your
situation.

But with PMC, you have a lot of options and we can leverage this again in
IDF, using standard function and some simple Enterprise Integrator tricks,
using PMC/TRDATA, and also can go completely disconnected using Catavolt,
feeding TRDATA and even using mobile devices.

You can go the MES suite route as well for a more broad solution. (not
just RM's).

I can share examples with you of all methods.

Kevin

More detail on what I exacly need to do:

I need to automatically create the "MO", then the "RM" to put the
finished
good into inventory. Western Forge is using a very strange process, we
don't
really use MO's to control our manufacturing process. So the manual
process
that's happening now is that we have someone manually keying an "MO" so
that
they can "RM" against it. I want to remove the manual keying of both, we
are
using the CISTECH PPS product and it will create the "RM" for me from
the gun.
But I still have a problem as I don't have an open "MO" to go
against....any
suggestions?

This is only a short-term fix as we are looking at our entire process to
figure out the right solution.

Thanks again for everyone who responded....we just aren't doing
things "normally" so I need to be creative.
