Josh,

We didn't use MAPICS Payroll (far to limited for us - we had an incentive-based
payroll with some pretty specific and somewhat odd union requirements), and
switched from an internal system to ADP - they provided almost everything we
needed HR-wise in addition to everything we needed payroll-wise. The price was
reasonable also. And you can get an extract/download from them as part of the
payroll/HR process.

Our exceptions were all related to our union contracts, which were quite custom
to our company. I'm assuming you read the ADP website stuff at
http://www.adp.com/, which is pretty decent.

If you want more specifics, email me back and I can try to assist you some
more.

I know nothing of ADP. I just did a quick google but didn't find anything very
useful. Do you have a link?

Josh,

I think this begs the question of why aren't you going with ADP?

From our perspective we saw running MAPICS payroll as a liability for a number
of reasons.

We'll be going live with ADP Jan 1st, 2011.

I am building an application for our company to interface with XA's payroll
functionality. I need to be able to manage accruals (vacation, sick, etc.),
salaries, etc. outside of XA and have the balances/current data synchronize with
XA. Has anyone done a project like this who can offer some words of wisdom? I
did a quick search of the archives and didn't seem to get much info based on
searching payroll, and some of the related file names.

Thanks,
