Hi

XA does have a workflow product that can be used to produce this. I'm
looking at options to produce same

Using Integrator the reqs could be passed into xa after the approval
loop , all required data could be extracted from xa database files. In
7.8 and above there is a new purchase req object allowing multiple lines
on one requisition.

Enterprise Integrator would be useful if you want to include any non Xa
tables or SQL Server based objects etc into the project. Enterprise
integrator also has an excellent Transaction Broker to process
transactions as XA does.

We were on 7.8 and have just upgraded to the new release 9 - its my
understanding the workflow product for xa 9 (available shortly) is fully
integrated as well.

There are some 3rd party products that are already written for this

subject: [MAPICS-L] Purchasing Requisition System

Hello.

We are contemplating reviewing purchasing requisition review and
approval systems. I am interested in any feedback or direction folks
may have... I am looking to scope out a potential project.

The major driver in the discussion is simplifying the process (too much
paper) and helping keep track of documents.

Here are some elements I think we would expect...
- Web based client...but that is not set in stone
- Create requisition with required information and attach
supporting document(s).
- Standard workflow based upon requester / requester and
department / type of purchase...
- Adhoc / exception workflow - maybe
- Review requisitions - time to process, value, ...
- Approved requisitions create XA requisitions...
- Appropriate integration with XA - unit, nature,
vendor(?)...however, methods to handle if some information is not there
(new vendor, ...)
- Rejection flow..
- Email integration (send email / summary email that 'you' have
work to do...) - email notification and linking...

I have done a little looking and I have chatted with our affiliate. Our
affiliate has a viable solution...but I still want to check out the
other side of the fence. It's my understanding XA doesn't have a
product...yes EAM does...but I don't want to embark upon using EAM for
all my purchasing requisitions...

I have started to check out some third party products...

We are an XA R7 implementation currently. We do own Integrator but not
Enterprise Integrator -- if that plays into any suggestions.

I appreciate any insight or direction.
