Matt is correct. The problems we have experienced with Windows 7 have been tied to the JRE being below 1.6. For 7.7 which uses JRE 1.4.2, we have run in XP compatibility mode and seen the dialog issue corrected.

Subject: Re: [MAPICS-L] PowerLink 7.8 and Windows 7.

With my PowerLink 7.8 and Windows 7 experiences, I had missing radio buttons, combo boxes, check boxes.

Two things I recall from it.
1. The local workstation's install of PowerLink should have the Java 1.6 engine.

To ensure the version of java engine within PowerLink, within a command prompt, look at
.... \Infor ERP XA Client\jre\bin and type java -version

Pre September 2009 versions of PowerLink 7.8 have a Java 1.5 engine that will not display radio buttons, command buttons, combo boxes, and the like in a Windows 7 workstation.

Ensure that SH15506G is downloaded from the Infor Download Center and used for PowerLink installations. This version of PowerLink has a Java 1.6 engine.

It does not matter which version of Java is loaded on the client's workstation. It matters greatly which version of Java is loaded in their client install package that gets placed within their ...\Infor ERP XA Client\jre\bin directory!

Work-around steps include having the Windows 7 workstation in "Classic Theme" instead of "Windows Theme" . Also copying java files that are from a 1.6 engine into that ...\Infor ERP XA Client\jre\bin directory.

2. Ensure that your PowerLink version is 02.07.08.31.17 or higher. We could not sign in to PowerLink with Windows 7 until we got to that level of PowerLink.

Regards,
Matt

Subject: [MAPICS-L] PowerLink 7.8 and Windows 7.

Hello All.

We are currently running XA 7.8 . And we have a couple of Windows 7 PCs that try to run

PowerLink. I know Infor is not supporting Windows 7 PowerLink issues yet.

Here my problem, On a Windows 7 PC the Powerlink windows are not complete.

Meaning that the side scroll bar does not appear, and there is a refresh issue as well.

If you move a list card or scroll too fast it become unreadable.

On the Windows 7 PC's I have high end video cards in attempt to cure these issues,

but so far no luck.

My question is there anyone out there running Windows 7 and 7.8 PowerLink that

have overcome these issues.

Thanks

Weston
