Vic,

We just did this less than a week ago. We are using 2008 R2, 64-bit, for PowerLink on a virtual server for remote users.

The "gotcha" we learned was granting "read write" access to the remote users on the ...\Infor ERP XA Client folder on the 2008 R2, 64 bit, server.

Views are one thing to load. Workbenches can take minutes, PowerLink updates can take hours, and a fresh install can take over a day to load!

Response time on the remote server is good. My advice to you is, supported or not, try it out.

Matt

Subject: [MAPICS-L] PowerLink question

Does anyone have WAN users running PowerLink? If so, how did you do it?
For our R6 remote Browser users we setup Browser on a 2008R2 Remote
Desktop Services (aka Terminal) server. Response time is good since the
terminal server is on the same LAN as the iSeries. We are now testing
R7.8. PowerLink (at the moment) does not support 64 bit, so the server
won't run PowerLink. When we tested running PowerLink on workstations
over a 3MB WAN link its taking approximately 35 seconds to open a view -
totally unacceptable. We have Integrator but not Enterprise Integrator,
so we need PowerLink for our custom objects. Options?
