Select SQL Monitor.

Then run your workbench and you'll get all the SQL Statements.

Also, you can run the database connection monitor in debug mode to see any advise indexes to help speed things along.

Looks like it's one of our custom cards slowing it down. Is there a way to capture the SQL query of a card?

If you add the time of each the individual queries up, is it more or less than the time of the workbench to refresh all three screens from a single change to the broadcaster?

The slowdown is inside a workbench, quering a customer order. There are
3 screens: CO Hold, Customer Order and CO Holds. The last one is the Broadcaster. Powerlink performs fine when each screen is accessed individually.

Any ideas?

It is possible if there is alot of new object definitions. I'm assuming this is because of the new link manager which really is dong more including connecting via system.link to the new EBS.

I been finding that the new 7.8 PowerLink is quite a bit slower than
the
7.6 PowerLink.

Thanks. Is this process documented by Infor somewhere?

When PowerLink launches it checks several items to enshure that it is
up
to
date:

1. client release level. If Link Manager has been directed to update a
new release level of the client code, the system will download the new
code and replace the older version during the login session. If the
new client code contains many new code files and or fixed code, etc.
,the update can take awhile which is variable depending upon the amount
of code that is refreshed.

2. User definitions. All user definitions are searched to ensure that
they are copied to the client which will enable access. A partial list
includes, views, subsets, sorts, templates....

3. Object definitions need to be refreshed if changed from integrator.
This
includes customized objects and system links.

I'm sure there are more.

The real test is what happens AFTER the login. What is the speed like?
If
the speed after login is acceptable, then you will want to check for
customization of the user definitions and/or object definitions.

Kevin

I will look through the archives.

About 5 minutes when it used to be 15 seconds. There are couple custom
definitions but it's a few kilobytes here and there...

Can you give more detail on this "refreshing on login" process?

What is "a long time"? Remember that the code is refreshing on log in
and therefore depending on systems and network time can very. My
system
is a very fast system and takes from 30 seconds to 5 min depending on
the amount of code and user definitions that need to be refreshed and /
or loaded.

We have had many detailed discussions on this topic. Please read the
archives.

My PowerLink is taking a long time to start up. Could this be related
to the fact that my 'c:\documents and settings' is redirected ?

Thanks
