Well, since the RM is inventory, and the op status is in PC&C, canned XA won't help you. In fact, this isn't generally a problem - we used to buy out end items all the time before the operations were completed. I believe that's pretty well the norm.

Probably your only recourse (aside from modifying XA code - yuck) would be to somehow prevent your people from using the standard RM entry in IM (which we severely restricted access to keying IM transactions, ourselves - the menu option just wasn't there except for a select few people). Then you make the associates run through a special entry program that does the editing prior to processing the transaction through the dataq. In fact, we did that for a number of transactions, just not the RMs. We keyed VERY few transactions through the standard screen - RPs, SSs, CAs, and that was about it.
