Marcos,

These are both functions that can be accomplished with the operating
system. System control values can be viewed and set via WRKSYSVAL
command. The value QPWDEXPITV sets the number of days when a password
expires. The system will automatically prompt the user prior to the
expiration date. The value for inactive jobs is QINACTITV and can be set
up to 300 minutes in 1 minute increments.

We have our password expiration and other password controls set to match
our network as part of our SOX program.

We do not use the inactive disconnect as it can create other problems
depending on what the user is doing. It is not nice to disconnect an A/P
clerk that was entering in your expense report and cannot reopen the
batch without your assistance.

Regards,
Jon

Subject: [MAPICS-L] Mapics help

Well, I had a couple questions about our Mapics ERP 9.0 .. We are
trying to see if a couple features are available OR if they can be
added to our Mapics . .
First, we want to set up Mapics to where it recognises a user being idle
for a while and if that user is idle for more than, example 45 minutes,
then mapics should log that user off....

Second, we want to set up a reminder to users to reset their password
for mapics... maybe every 6 months or so have the user reset their
mapics passwords...
