No mention of the T/pgm [To program] detail; or by mention of program AMI3B, should I infer the error is signaled to that program?

For unexpected msgMCH3601 T/Qibmprograms, especially for T/QDMCOPEN, that is often a symptom seen after an upgrade of the OS, without having applied all of the necessary maintenance for MAPICS. A problem manifest as varying and unexpected MCH3601, has its origin in a design flaw of MAPICS, which performs what would normally be an unsupported function. The feature employs a /trick/ to perform its function, and that feature must be corrected\updated, because the new OS has broken the old method to effect the trickery. The trickery is evidenced by the program flow which is visible in Trace Job output.

Regards, Chuck

We upgraded to V5R4 last weekend. Now we get intermittent MCH3601 errors from an interactive job that calls program AMI3B. We don't see anything wrong with this job. Infor knowledge base not help.

Does anyone have any experience with this type of error. This job
has been running for years without errors before this week.
