I guess that I am old school and reluctant to change like so many of our
users have been through the years, but since I have worked with the
product
since 1985 it will always be MAPICS to me! Of course, other than the
GLAPPR
applications what we have today does not resemble what we had back then
very
much!

Until they fix the heading on the main menu of green screen:

MAPICS XA
Application Selection

They are going to still have people with brand identity confusion.

I just had a user yesterday ask me what are we calling it? MAPICS, XA, or
Power-Link?

I thought I saw somewhere that R7.8 makes some changes to the product
naming
consistency, but I am not sure where I saw that.

And don't even bring up the fact that "Browser", which became "Power
Link", is now "IDF" or "iSeries Development Framework". It will confuse
the heck out of everyone! lol.

You know when they change the name they can then charge more.

"Infor doesn't call it MAPICS though, Infor calls it "Infor XA"."
Agreed. That is why I always say they are doing kind of a "new teaching"
of it... indoctrinating us about how to refer to it from that point on.

Let me tell you. <IMHO> I guess it will take a little time.... :o)
