Thanks, Olga.

I re-read my post and I was not fully lucid in my mental scratchings.

I do, in fact, want the planning BOM to drive the material through MRP (and we will buy it; this is an attempt to support Cameleon); I just don't want anyone to be able to open a CO or MO for the "special" assemblies.

That help?

Charley,
What about creating a "mock" warehouse that is not a planned warehouse so MRP does not include the items. Just a thought.

Hello list!

This may sound a wee bit goofy, but here goes...

I need to do some aggregated material planning utilizing a planning
BOM approach. I want to create the planning BOMs and use assembly
items created especially for this planning exercise; I do not want
these assembly items to accidentally get put on a customer order nor
on a manufacturing order. If I suspend the Item Warehouse records for
these "special" assembly items, will MRP still plan them? I believe
the answer is 'Yes' but I thought I'd check.

Thanks!
