Lenny,
Thank you for your suggestions. We will pick up this effort after the
holidays.
I agree that all events and entities that add value should be part of this
group's agenda.

We would do well to also partner with other groups across the country to get a
unified voice
before Infor on common goals.

Regards,
Phil Campa

Hello list

Happy holidays to you all.

There has been a lot of email traffic in the last week or so where folks
here in California have expressed the desire to reactivate a previous
user group community or form a new group. Before I go any further can I
ask if those prospective members are open to including long established
software vendors in any new user group that might get kick started? If
so, our company would be delighted and honored to be involved.

Our company have a lot of experience with MAPICS and ERP systems across
the board. We specialize in niche, add on functionality (fully
integrated with MAPICS) in the areas of Cash Management, Electronic
Banking and Treasury Management and have a suite of software solutions
that really improve the day to day life of finance users, especially
those involved in Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable and
Reconciliation functions. You can find us at www.cashbook.com In
addition, there are many other vendors out there that provide great
solutions in the MAPICS space so they should be encouraged to
participate also.

In my experience of attending/exhibiting/presenting at various user
groups across the country over a 10+ year period, folks consistently say
that user group events that include educational sessions from vendors,
case studies from MAPICS users on new solutions/projects implemented and
that generally adopt a broad agenda, are the ones that are most
successful.

A couple of final points. If the number of interested parties for a CA
user group is small then perhaps there may be interest in a West Coast
user group? Also, our company attends all the INFOR events and it seems
to me that the MAPICS user community is not being represented at these
conferences, so perhaps there is an opportunity to involve someone from
INFOR to get any new group updated on product enhancements (among other
things) as well as being a contact for user questions, concerns and
feedback.

Thank you all for taking the time to read this message!

Best Regards,

Lenny Crotty
