What are your reasons for waiting to close MO's? We are not using standard costing and close out our MO's when they have had all their transactions (labor and material) posted. After this happens we ship the product. We are not using GLI for calcualting our costs of goods sold though.

Subject: [MAPICS-L] Applying cost without closing MO's

Every month we leave a larger number of our MO's open due to the way we
operate our business. I am told that this cause costs to ramain unapplied
and we need to back into cost of sales.

Is there a way to apply cost for labor and materials at the time of the
transaction instead when we close MOs?
