Marc,

We are currently using a High Availability application with Infor/MAPICS XA R6 and R7. We have done some research and went through the same issues you are challenged with. You are more than free to contact me any time to discuss and take this off line. I can tell you after a few switch tests and validating data, MAPICS does actually does work on your replicated system - it's very cool to see this process unfold after all the preparation work is done.

Subject: [MAPICS-L] Mapics High Availability

As my team looks out to next year’s planning cycle we would like to extend
our disaster recovery plan to include high availability not just recovery.

We have multiple plants that are geographically dispersed yet we have only
one data center and our current plans include offsite recovery. Our ideal
state would allow us to have AS/400’s running Mapics at the major
production facilities to allow LAN speed access and the ability to fail over
in the case of a disaster at any of the data centers. Essentially we would
like a geographically dispersed cluster with each site hot.
This leads to a number of question starting with is the ideal state feasible
with current technology? If it is feasible what are others in this
situation doing? Are there any recommend solutions we can research or
VAR’s that can lead us along implementation?
Thanks in advance for your response,
Marc
