"Do you have any idea why we want to allow inventory activity against a
suspended item? Can you list reasons?"

One way we use it is to force review of items we "think" we may want to
stop selling (they are, in many instances, still components of another
assembly). Since the CO is blocked from being entered, it forces
customer service to work the process, so to speak. And since we are not
selling it, we don't want to open any PO's or MO's related to any
independent demand.

"It's been a while, but my understanding was that all that suspending an
item prevents is opening a customer order, manufacturing order, or
purchase order for it. I don't believe that any inventory transactions
are blocked, and I think the item can still be a component in a
manufacturing order. I'm open to correction if I'm wrong, of course."

Thank you Dave and Charlie for your answers. Do you have any idea why
we want to allow inventory activity against a suspended item? Can you
list reasons?

Thanks again guys!
