Hello Group,
Are there any concerns/solutions to network security since it all runs on the iSeries?
We have started talking with EAX and are looking at the Vendor module.
I would be interested in feedback from users of this module regarding payback.
TIA
Mike Bennett

Raymond,
First and foremost, EAX is a percentage of the price that COM_net. I know there are many users of COM_net (and I am not by any means) saying bad things about the application. However, from my understanding, it is difficult to enhance and/or modify and is quite expensive if you choose to.

EAX uses the BCD product (Websmart) which means - you can purchase the development tools and write your own stuff that looks exactly like the EAX product.

Secondly, there are many user exits that can be used for custom stuff. For example, CSC interfaced with, our address verification utility and our email database. They also interfaced our Shipment Tracking database so customers can track their own orders. We have not determined how many phone calls no longer come in since the customer can do it themselves.

They can also reprint their own invoices, send quick email alerts to the appropriate CSR, can get online pricing (using XA's pricing calculations), Item Availabilityand so on. We also put all weborders on some special Hold Codes so that the CSR can verify the data.

Their also extensive security that you can limit your own users to only specific functions.

Eric
