Just a 9406-520.
The job itself has been known to hang with a Y2U0009 message - "Change or
delete operation could not find requested record". That's always fun.
I'm lucky enough to be able to whack a year's worth of IMHIST without archiving
too. I'll probably delete 10 million records this year which is another 12
hour job at least.

Bryan,

I'm impressed! You must have an awesome AS400/i series/system I.
Yes must do the save part to comply with SEC record retention rules.

Greg,

Is it imperative that you archive? I'm lucky enough to be able to run
just the deletion process so it takes out the tape issues. Granted,
it's still mind blowingly slow process. About 12 hours for 500,000
orders. I do it once a year.
