We started on a BI project to consolidate all information from all our
databases so users would have to use only one tool.
This included data from MAPICS, Oracle, SQL Server and spreadsheets.

The purpose was to replace all the other tools we currently used.
We chose Business Objects.

If your primary purpose is just to do BI on MAPICS data, you might
consider FRx for financials or Infor's BI solution for MAPICS.

Manage this as a project, for the first data mart keep a limited scope.
I'd suggest reading some of the books by Ralph Kimball.

Anyone doing any "business intelligence" projects? What types of

Was it a worthwhile effort or just another good marketing idea gone
awry?
