You can simply FTP them with a ASCII option. The result will be an ascii
text file, fixed width.

You can do a bit more with Excel/Access using ODBC (SLOW-DBC) or Client
Access.

We had a similar challenge getting DBIII tables into Browser, we wound up
simply
printing the data to a fixed width text file and uploading to AS/400 using
Client Access.

I would recommend knowing where you're going first and exporting
accordingly.
You will save yourself a lot of time & hair!

Subject
[MAPICS-L] Converting to ASCII from the AS/400

Hello everyone,

Does anyone know of a tool or utility that will allow me to convert AS/400

files to ASCII? I want to FTP these files to another System, unknown type

at this time, and they need it in ASCII format.

Thanx,

Nick
