TRDATA was also something we thought about.
Although it seems you need to populate more fields then using the offline file. This is when you look at the record after entering it through pmc.(U-Jobs on hold)
I wonder if all fields are necessary to enter.
For example, or turnaround or order/item combination for an IP transaction.
Because an program outside Mapics/ISeries needs to update the file (Using SQL) I wonder if I don't run into problems.
You need to have a unique transaction number in TRDATA.
TRDATA can be used by different processes or programs.
For example we also use PLM&C which also updates TRDATA.
Any ideas?

IF you have PMC: use TRDATA, else, yes it can be done . I've done it at
several sites and it has been running for ages (XA Rel 1 thru 6, DB all).
Alas for you I cannot divulge the sources for free, but a good MAPICS
knowledgeable guy can help you.

Subject: [MAPICS-L] Offline load OFFTRN

We are looking for the possibilities of doing offline file load for
inventory using Inventory Management Transaction Processing Entry from
Offline Files.
Therefore we would like to use the OFFTRN file.
The goal we have is automate this process by just creating this file
offline and then loading the file and process the corresponding batch
automatically without user intervention.
According to the Mapics support website this is not possible but I’m
hoping that somebody else has an answer to this.

Regards,

Hans
