Ed,

What release and PTF level are you at? We have concurrent users also
and have to manually release the licenses a few times a week.
Thanks!

Kevin,

Cough up the $50. We run 50 concurrent users licensing and when we hit
the
limit we get the obvious message when the 51st person tries to get into
Mapics. We go through our "normal" drill of getting the users that are
just
logged in and not using Mapics ff the system and their licensed user
disappears. Our usage drops below 50 and the other users can get on.
If I
misunderstood your response then don't worry about the $50. ;)

It does not matter whether you have "registered user license" or
"concurrent
user license", MAPICS will not release your licenses.

It does not matter whether if you have the "latest" PTF's, MAPICS will
not
release your licenses. (100% guarantee confirmed by the support labs)

I'll pay $50 to the first person that can document a case of MAPIC's
"concurrent user license" that works per the industry standard
definition of
'Concurrent".

BTW, per my attorney has informed us in writing that it does not violate
the
SLA to delete registered users from WRKLICINF as this does not change
the
number of registered users you have authorized to the system. Just
imagine
that "Sally or Joe" go on an extended vacation for 3 weeks, it is
perfectly
legal to remove there "registration" until their return. Same thing
goes
for between 11:00AM and 12:00 noon.

If I am not mistaken, but you may be out of license compliance.

If you are registered users, you are suppose to pay the fee for the
number
of users that you have registered in the system. Deleting users on a
weekly
basis might not be allowed under your SLA.

This has been discussed before, I would search the archives.

        Hi,

We are running MAPICS XA and whenever a User signs into it, the
system
puts an entry into the License Info for our MAPICS software.

I go into WRKLICINF 3 times a week to release licenses that
Users
are not
signed on to at that time.

Is there any way I can write a utility that will do this, or is
there
anyother way of releasing the license when the User signs off?

        Thanx,

        Nick
