I'll look at that file, too. Thanks!

There's one more user exit that may be of interest to you: UMBPCK5R. It
is not called from any programs and it stands by itself. We call it
from a program to specify which order/line item to pick

call 'UMBPCK5R'
parm RCode 7
parm a_ckaenb
parm a_ckdccd
parm a_ckcvnb
parm p_ckfcnb
parm p_ckdrnb
parm ECode 5

Patrick,

If you are at release 4 or above, the user exits are part of the
standard COM application. You should have them and don't pay extra.

Gary --

Thanks. I didn't have a user exit on my system for this, but I did
discover one MAPICS has that I haven't downloaded. From the cover
letter:

In Customer Order Management, a request has been made to have
user exits available to allow the user to perform additional
edits before selecting and printing a picklist.

Programs UMBPCK8R and UMBPCK9R have been created for this
purpose. UMBPCK8R will be executed when ENTER key is taken on
the initial selection panels just prior to the selection
process. UMBPCK9R will be executed after all the COM selection
process has been completed and before updating the MBADREP
(Release) record for pick list selection.

This should allow me to do two things: 1) segregate pick lists by
warehouses, and 2) insert my own picking rules.

I'll give them a look. If anyone has experience with them, I'm still
open to hints!

Patrick

Patrick,

There should be a user exit for this. Look in the COM documentation at
the Appendix for User Exits.

Subject: Externally creating a pick list?

My CRSs are spending a lot of time manually selecting pick lists in COM.
I have to ship my orders complete, and I release pick lists after the
inventory is available and ready to ship. The ship complete option works
for individual line items, not for the entire customer order. The
requires someone to manually review each order and verify that the order
has enough inventory on hand for each line item in order to create the
pick list.

Does anyone have any hints on how I can submit the pick list print job
from my own program? I can select which orders and line items I want to
appear, but I then want the job MAPICS submits for pick list printing to
take over and process the necessary files and actually print the report.
Essentially, I want my program to select the orders to print (replacing
the AMBE7DFR program), then for MAPICS to take care of the print.

Thanks in advance....

Patrick Shrader
