Kirk,
We allowed inventory to be stored in our normal warehouses, but account for
it with a special Item Class and Item Accounting Class.

The special Item Class allows us to run inventory evaluations by Item Class,
for just the Consignment Inventory valuation, so it can be backed out of the
books.

The Item Accounting Class is used in the GL interface for inventory usage.

When have a process that audits to make sure the Item Class and Item
Accounting class are in agreement for Consignment Inventory, it kicks out an
audit report if it finds a discrepancy.

Hope this helps,

Ed Kandel

Subject: Consignment Inventory in Mapics 6.0

I am currently working with Mapics XA 6.0 and need to set up consignment
inventory. I want to be able to have visibility of the inventory from within
Mapics, but I do not want the inventory to show up in our books.
Any ideas regarding the best way to set this up? I look forward to your
comments.
Thank you,
