Lloyd,

Be sure to check out SPLTOOL at www.bvstools.com.

We use it to distribute 17 of our nightly reports, which I used to have to
print and distribute. I modified the nightly CL to use one of the SPLTOOL
commands to take a spooled file, convert it to a PDF and e-mail it. I am
not a programmer but know a little CL and was able to learn how to use the
SPLTOOL command to incorporate them into a CL. I also use it to email all
our all our accounting and sales month end reports to myself as PDF's, which
I then paste them to shared network drives.

When doing my investigation, I looked at other products too, but it looked
to me like SPLTOOL was the easiest to configure. After using it for several
years, I am glad I recommended it. We have some "users" in customer service
who are not really computer savvy but they use the SPLTOOL product on a
daily basis to mail their own spooled files to distributors.

You can download the program and test it without having to buy anything or
feel committed to it. The site says SPLTOOL has over 20,000 downloads.

Hope this helps. Contact me off list if you would like.

Is anyone out there using anything to automatically run reports on a
scheduled basis and export them into Excel Format and email them? I am
looking at SpoolIT, but it seems like it is quite cumbersome to set up.
I also don't like the fact that I have to have the application, SpoolIT
server, and SpoolIT Scheduler running on my P.C. Also, it seems kind of
temperamental. I am sure that there are other products that can do
this, any ideas?
