RE: Wow!

Ours upgrade was different than what you will be doing.  We went from a 820
to a 520.  New I-Series shipped to us from IBM, was supposed to have V5R3
pre-loaded on it.  No OS was even loaded on it, had DASD we never even
ordered in it, no power cords to connect the expansion module or the main
module to the rack.  That was just for starters......

HMC is a complete joke, still have not figured it out completely.

running V5R2
Your comment about IBM problems-
What kinds of problems ?
What OS were coming from ?

We are not going to Rel 7, but just went to a 520...  Hope yours goes MUCH
better than ours did.....  It was the worst upgrade we have ever done....
Nothing wrong on the MAPICS side of things, but IBM was entire
nightmare!!!!

Did you take the plunge and go to Rel 7 also?  We expect our 520 sometime
next week--still gun shy on going to Rel 7. Anyone else gone to Rel 7? War
stories?

That's about all I can say about the difference from going from a 170
series(Tiny Tim), to a new 520 series Box!!!  Not that would ever want to
have to do this again in this lifetime, but what a difference!!!  MAPICS
flies now!!!  Even Browser!!!  Anyhow, wanted to know what other people
thought of the changes in new O/S V5R3?
