As a stop gap measure, we are using Google's custom search engine service.

Probably nothing... You notice that it is a new offering,  yet another 
attempt at CRM. 
I'm sure that for at least a great deal of time, anything using WebSphere 
will be an additional bolt-on/billable module. ; )
