Always been an Issue here, We are in the process of designing and
integrating an entire CRM solution to get around this and other
"Features", such as BOM's not supporting Reference Designators (BOM
Callouts) so...

YES

Don't get me wrong, I don't mean to sound like a MAPICS Basher, just feel
that this is a very logical request, a Salesperson's job is to get the
quote out, sell the product, and make the Company $$$. There would have
to be logic built is that would track where this quote came from, and
whether is came fruition, so that quoting performance could be measured
after it became a sale...

Please take my little poll

I submitted the following request, would this enhancement be of benefit to
any of me fellow MAPICS users.

I would need a YES or NO so I can tabulate the results. I will let you
all know what the results were.

I wanted a customer status code to allow entry QUOTES only, the sale
department always want to quote. If our customers win there quote from
their customer, our customer may pay previously owed invoices.

Our accounting department does not want to put the customer on HOLD
because it may be released by mistake. so the accounting department
suspends the customer.

the copy function from quote to order would also have to be modified by
MAPICS .

Thanks to ALL.

This might be a way to show MAPICS that enhancements reach more customers
then they think.

Subject: Enhancement Request 1364729 - Cust status code that restricts to
entry of quotes but not orders

Hello Otto,

The enhancement request for incident number 1364729 regarding the COM
application has been reviewed.

Request:
Cust status code that restricts to entry of quotes but not orders

Application Primary Review:
While we understand the importance of this request to you, we believe it
to be somewhat customer specific and of limited value to our broader
customer base. You might want to look at using one of the COM user exits
/ api's to control the types of orders a particular customer number will
allow.

Due to the limited overall impact this enhancement request would have on
our customer base, and the size of our existing pool of approved requests,
it has been determined that this request will not be completed by the
Support organization within a reasonable time frame. Subsequently, this
request has been closed and no further action will be taken.

Thank you.
