If you're willing to violate the warranty you could tap into the wiring 
for the motors that spin during printing.
There are bright low-draw lights such as those used on model cars that 
would be noticeable.

Talk to the guy who maintains your factory equipment, such as the panels & 
plc's.

A Blue light special






Has anyone attached a light (a flashing Blue light, or anything) to a
printer so it would turn on when the printer has printed, and then goes 
off
when the paper is removed?

Could be a buzzer.
