Jeff,

Thanks for the reply.

Could you tell me where we would do this maintenance at. MAPICS will not let
us maintain in either Green Screen or Browser. My first impression is that
some modification has been made to maybe block this and if I know where its
supposed to be done at I can track it down and fix it.

FYI, this implementation is a major multi-site, multi-national roll out and
we are the first site that has it. There have been mods done to it (before I
came on board) so part of my job is to help de-bug it.

Thanks

Bill Wolf

Subject: Re: Editing info in IM when using EPDM

   Bill,

If EPDM is installed and activated, all item, rtn and BOM maintenance
   is performed in EPDM.

@ rel 6.0 the old itemas A,B, and C records still exist for use by Pur,
   IM, and COM.
In EPDM you can perform an initial release to PDM for Adds, or any other
time by accessing the maint tab from the item rev icon.
Once an item is released, it should 'auto' sync from that point on.

There is a new file ITMREL that is keeping track of items to be synced.
Check to make sure the item in question is in this file, if not try to
   re-release it to PDM.

You should be able to perform maint in EPDM, even if you are not
activated, but just installed, and maybe have run a migration, for
testing, training in EPDM, with no desire to sync to PDM.

   Hope this helps

Subject: Editing info in IM when using EPDM
   Date: Tue, 26 Aug 2003 11:21:51 -0400
   Hello all,
Been lurking the list for awhile and learned a lot but actually have a
   question to ask now.
All my experience has been with green screen MAPICS and no EPDM or
   Browser.
I am now at a company that uses EPDM and Browser and it's a bit confusing
   to
   this old dog.
We have Standard costs that are showing up in the Item Master that we
   don't
want there. The costs we want are in Item Revision but all Browser drill
downs are getting info from Item Master.
If we try to edit them using IM it says "E AM-4966 Use EPDM functions to
perform maintenance" when we go to EPDM all that is available is offline
load features. In Browser it says this information is not maintainable.
Question is how do we maintain this information? Any ideas, suggestions,
and/or good jokes would be appreciated.
