Yep. Normal 5250 screens come up just like they do on a normal terminal.
As far as the iSeries is concerned, it IS a normal terminal.

For several years, we have been using dumb terminals with wedge scanners
for fixed terminal data collection (a lot cheaper), and have recently begun
the R/F project. I looked at quite a few options, and found a very nice
portable terminal called the YesTablet. It runs Windows CE with 5250
emulation (80x24 or 132x27), supports Internet Explorer (could be handy in
future releases of MAPICS, like R7), works well with 800x600 resolution,
and has a touch screen. It has a built in R/F transceiver, but also
accepts PCMCIA cards (like Cisco LEAP cards) if you have specific
requirements. We have put a small USB hub on the unit, and attached a
flexible membrane keyboard with a small laser scanner to it. It can run as
a handheld (it has a strap that can go around your hand, wrist, or forearm)
or can be mounted on a forktruck with a little imagination.
I am very pleased with the flexibility and price of this (under $2000
each), and would recommend looking at it. You can find it at this web

No, I don't work for the company that produces or sells these, but actually
think this is better than a lot of the forktruck mounted units, which can
be REALLY expensive. I don't need devices that can be used outside in a
hurricane, major dust storm, or blizzard conditions. My forktrucks that
need data collection are operated inside the plant. Also, the units are a
lot smaller and don't block the fork truck operator's field of vision
anywhere near as much as a lot of the other devices.

1. Did you design the screen to be 8 x 40 as display size?
