Joan, the code also does a SETLL TRDATA with the equal indicator and stays
in the do loop until *off.  Getting the trans number from the data area
seems to be the starting point to determine the next number, but not the
final answer.  If all programs tested for the lock before continuing, it
could be the data area value + 1 every time without additionally checking
TRDATA with SETLL, etc.

Joan,  I would 'assume' it's different algorithms to prevent that but
it's a very good question, probably worth asking support if you haven't.
 I'd be curious to hear the explanation.
