You can only add triggers to physical files. If you are going to use a trigger over IMHIST, make sure to use user defined opens of any files that you are using in your trigger program. That way the files would only open if you're condition is met. If the trigger program must open files every time it is called, you may have a performance problem being that IMHIST is a huge and widely used file.
