The Mapics ALF is not optional. With some other packages the annual
charges allow you to gain access to the developer's technical support
team and to receive periodic code updates. The Mapics ALF is an annual
"license to use" the product. In other words, there is not an option to
stop paying ALF and remain at your current code level. What a deal...

I am not sure what the license agreement is with MAPICS, but what about
this. Lets say that I no longer want to pay the ALF's (don't even get
me
started on those) and just continue running at the software level we are
currently at? From what the license screen indicates, we would be
"locked
out" of MAPICS.

Other comments we have heard when users start seeing that screen 1). MIS
did not do their job correctly 2). The company is not paying it's
bills.

Maybe someone at MAPICS is reading all these emails & can request that
the
change be made to send the messages to qsysopr.
