We use 7 places to the right of the decimal for the calculation then round.
We have been that way for 10 years plus. Works fine until you want to
upgrade a release and have to transfer all the mods forward. ....still at
Release 4.

Subject: COM and selling price decimal places

Has anyone ever had the need to modify MAPICS in such a way as to
allow entry of COM order items with a decimal value of more than 3 places?

I am wondering just how difficult (read dangerous) it would be to modify the
current order entry app to allow this?

The rounding of the final line item amount to 2 places is not a problem,
this what we would prefer.
(.33333 X 65335 = $21,778.11555) then rounded,
equals $21,778.12 - this is precisely what is needed

Problem is with current system and it's decimal place limitation, this what
happens
(.33 X 65355 = $21,560.55)

Difference of $217.57!
