Eric,

I am doing the most basic operations:
1. Key item number and quantity
2. Allow user to make substitutions to the PSTRUC for this MO
3. Create the MO

I've started work by populating the MOMAST and MODATA files directly, but
then thought about using ORDATAx files and running the MAPICS programs to
populate the files.

Did your programmer use direct approach or the ORDATA approach?

Patrick

Patrick,

If the orders that you need to put into the MO files are new orders with no
activity, then that should be relatively straight forward. However, if the
orders have activity (ie: converting from one system to MAPICS), then the
process gets much more complicated. One of the programmers that I worked
with at a MAPICS customer attempted this and it was about 95% successful.
Took him a while to get there, though.
