There were database changes between Release 4 and Release 6.  Many are minor, 
but you need to check the Release Newsletter for a list of all database changes 
for Release 5 and Release 6.  Depends on which application(s) you are
concerned with.  Not sure if you were asking a question and didn't get to 
complete your thought or if you were just making a blanket statement.  I may be 
missing an email, so please forgive me if I'm missing something.
