Mike,

They have no knowledge because we never told them. There are no MAPICS
processing issues if you turn on journaling, other than the slight increase
in overhead on the machine because of doing it. The journaling is
completely transparent. At a previous employer we ran a full replication of
MAPICS data from one machine to another using Data Mirror's product, which
relies on journaling, and never had a hiccup on the source side. Issues on
the replicated side were due to limitations in the replication tool, which
wasn't mature when we started. It was pretty much fool-proof by the time I
left that company, though.

Subject: OS/400 journaling of Mapics data

Searching for information on any Mapics problems after
enabling OS/400 DB journaling for Mapics DB's.
I already talked to Mapics Support and they had no knowledge
of any customers who have attempted this.
My goal is to use daily Mapics saves to tape and stored off-site
plus remote journaling to an old AS/400 also off-site
     in a disaster recovery plan.
Thank you.
