Addendum - it has occurred to me that you may be trying to format a
one-off check to fill in and print on request (outside of a normal check
run). If so, there is a fill-in capability included with JacanaForms
where you could type the information onto a blank representation of the
form and then print the form information entered.

Keith,

Rather than going through the effort to convert the spool file, bring it
down to your pc, merge it with a form layout, and then print it to a
laser printer, you may want to save all that time and use a forms
package to print the checks to the laser printer which can also include
the MICR magnetic ink printing. The Mapics application JacanaForms
currently has some promotional pricing and may be worth a look. Please
call your Mapics rep for details.

JacanaForms can replace all of your pre-printed forms requirements with
plain paper in laser printers. The savings in forms costs and operator
time can be enormous and justify the costs quickly. I work for Momentum
Utilities, the developer of JacanaForms and Info WorkPlace report
writing. If you have any questions, I would be happy to discuss them
with you.

Has anybody know how to create an ASCII file of the
contents of the AP Check spool file? I would like to
be able to take that data and format an off-line check
to print on a laser printer.

Thanks,

Keith
