When we moved from the model 500 to the 270, we were able to get the fees
waived for the upgrade for both PQR and WC Fields. It may have had more to
do with the amount of money we pay for annual maintenance for WC Fields and
have yet to get it fully operational.

We have seen a major reduction in annual maintenance from MAPICS and Help
Systems and most of the other utilities have stayed the same with no charges
for getting the new license keys. I had one vendor of an old PC file
transfer package that would not waive their fee of $500. It turns out the
code doesn't work with v5r1 anyway so we dropped it and now use client
access for transferring the data.

Subject: License Fees for upgrade with Same Processor category

We are moving from a Model 600, 2135 to a Model 270, 2431. This is a
response from Midrange Software concerning their Purchasing Quick Receiver
product.

"Connie, per contract, anytime there is an AS400 upgrade, there is an
upgrade fee for the PQR software. If you remain on the same AS400 tier there
would be a new Initial License Fee(ILF) of $1,000 and an Annual License
Fee(ALF) of $150."

Both models are in the P10 processor tier. Has ANYONE ever seen this happen?
