For the owning company there is no change.
For the second company the item balance must be changed or you will not be
able to buy it.
Against the item balance you should indicate that this is a master level
item, MPSP (if required) and ensure that it is a P lead time code.
You can leave the item type as 1 but MRP will pick up the components and
prompt for an item balance to be created or it will attempt to order stock
based on your requirements.
The safest way is to change the item type to a 4 and key a standard and
current material this level and let a costing run update your prices.
The item can be treated as a sell item even if you buy it and immediately
on-sell it.
Set up a base price / discount structure - or however you do your pricing.
Ensure your code/s (whichever one you use to identify sell/finished items -
item class, MLI, MPSP flag, acct class or user defined field) to identify
your items is in place and there should be no issues.
