mining addresses from the list for spamming

Recently one of our list members became suspicious that a vendor had gotten
his e-mail address from this list and had used it to send him an
advertisement - in other words, spam.  As most of you are probably aware,
the guidelines for all the lists at Midrange dot Com expressly forbid doing
this, with the penalty being banishment from the list server.  If any of you
receives such an unsolicited piece of spam, please forward the complete
message, with the full internet headers, to myself and/or David Gibbs
(david@midrange.com).  This MAY give us enough information to identify the
culprit, enabling us to remove him from the list.  I hope that this
particular incident was an isolated case that is not repeated.  Vendors,
please be sure you adhere strictly to the rules on this!  Thank you all for
your attention.
