I have been very successful with using a product called Unifier (formerly
called FaxServer/401) from Cornerstone Communications (www.cstoneindy.com -
don't ask why the weird web address, I don't know). It allows faxing
directly from output queues on the AS/400 as well as from desktop apps. It
also sends faxes to e-mail addresses. It has receiving capability (to
AS/400 printers and e-mail) which I don't use - but we use it extensively
for sending faxes.

It runs on a standalone PC so it uses practically no AS/400 resources (a
good thing for us).

Note: I do not send P.O. or invoices with it - company policy requires that
P.O.s be actually signed by a buyer, and my customers don't want their
invoices faxed (again, don't ask - I don't understand that either). However,
I understand that you can do that.

What is the MAPICS community using for faxing from AS400? We would like to
do Purchase Orders, Acknowledgements, Invoices, etc. Would be nice for
desktop faxing also.
