Mapics Environment: DB or Y2K (Mod 4)
PC&C, IM and PDM

Hi Mapics ML:

The Manufacturing Order Description or Detail File, MODATA, includes a field
called Unit Cost (CSTPC).

My copy of the "Mapics Cross Application Support: File Layouts and Data
Dictionary" say the follow description for CSTPC:

"Unit Cost: The unit cost is an item determined from receipts by manual, last
cost or average cost methods. A zero cost extension leaves CSTPC unchanged."

There is no mention of Standard Costs in the above description or the type of
cost tailoring used in Mapics.

What does "manual" mean in the above description?

I assume it's a misprint and that it should be restated as "standard cost."

Therefore, it appears that CSTPC is populated from the ITEMBL file's three
major cost fields, depending on the Mapics cost tailoring method selected,
Standard Cost, Average Unit Cost or Last Cost.

Are my assumptions above correct?

I look forward to hearing from you on these questions.

Regards....
